It was announced today that HMRC’s Coronavirus Job Retention Portal will be opened on the 20th April 2020. Here is a handy video which covers everything you will need to apply for it.

As a re-cap – You will need:

  • your PAYE reference number
  • the number of employees being furloughed
  • the claim period (start and end date)
  • amount claimed (per the minimum length of furloughing of 3 consecutive weeks)
  • your bank account number and sort code
  • Your records showing furloughed workers and the amounts to claim.
  • your contact name
  • your phone number
  • The records of furlough costs including Employers NI, pensions contributions and the actual furloughed workers wage costs. – You will get this information from a mix of your electronic records and your payroll.
